Shipset Development History

• 01st June 2001 - V0.30 - First upload. Most combat ships, carriers and medium transport. Some ships have been drawn but not uploaded.
  
• 11th June 2001 - V0.31 - Early version of the racial pic added with crude colouring.
  
• 11th / 12th July 2001 - V0.39 Playing around with possible designs for a stellar manipulation barge, I discovered a rather cool "ring" design, which I have used for some of the more high tech ships - the large transport, all the carriers and the higher end combat ships. This has allowed me to add a little more variety to the cruisers. I have also redone the prospector and the courier. The ideas were right but they needed to be redrawn.
  
• 05th September - I've spent the last week or two working with Rollo on the racial pics, flags, shields and so on. Uploaded them today. I should point out that the shield image and the "hammer" missiles are by Rollo.
  
• 06th September - A few minor tweaks to the new technicolour racial pic. Colony ships and resource station posted.
  
• 17th September - A full zip file of vikings 0.92 (with working AI and racial pics) made available for download. Note that the release history and shipset history are not the same thing.
  
• 20th September - Battlemoon! In colour!
  
• 08th November - Massive update! Almost all images have been coloured, top down pics are done and almost all the units have been drawn too. But because I'm mean I'm not going to make them all available - you'll have to wait until the first full release!
  
• 15th November - A few minor tweaks to the graphics and the AI and we have V0.96 (Pre CD Release). Ready for download and lacking only 2 weapons platform images, this is a fully functional release. All the graphics are now up on the main viking page.
  
• 21st November - Large Colony Ship, Sails added to fighters and drone, "glow" added to small troop's hammer, new shield pics created, various other images re-centred, minor tweaks to readme.htm file. Many files renamed to comply with Neo-Standard.
• 04th December - V0.97 uploaded. Tiny transport & Medium Weapons Platform images now available. Various other tweaks and fixes.
• Mid December - Version 1.00 submitted for SEIV Gold burn, with coloured resource hulls and tiny transport, new small troop, tweaked weapons platforms and fighters. New Large Transport, old one moved to Barge.
• 27th January - Future releases will be either "Classic" or "Gold". Classic V1.00 released. (V1.00 Gold graphics with 0.97 AI)
• Spring 2002 - Added scout image for full proportions compatibility.

Just out of interest, here are some obselete designs which have been replaced:

All the carriers were improved...	including the assault carrier
The old battleship design.	Creating this new battleship design...	... allowed me to re-use certain elements, giving more variety to the cruisers.
